CosMedix Chirally Correct Medical Skin Care was developed in an effort to increase the effectiveness of
ingredients, while reducing any associated irritation. This is done through a purification process called
"chiral correction." The system is so effective, the FDA mandated that all new pharmaceuticals be chirally
corrected when possible, prior to being introduced to the public.
The CosMedix philosophy is based around the principle that inflammation is the core cause of all skin conditions. Traditional skin care lines have primarily selected ingredients that create inflammation when addressing these common skin care problems (artificial colors and fragrances, artificial preservatives, sodium lauryl sulfate, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, etc.) CosMedix took it a step further by not only removing the irritants, but making the majority of their active ingredients less irritating as well. This is done by a process called chiral correction. When we avoid increasing the inflammation in the skin with irritants, we have already begun to improve those conditions. In addition, CosMedix uses a very high concentration of active ingredients that communicate with the skin and work with its natural ability to repair itself.
