Blood Freckles: An Overview

Are you embarrassed about those small "blood freckles" on your face or body? Not sure what they are or how to get rid of them? If so, call Southern Oregon Laser Center. We're experts at eliminating hemangiomas using cosmetic lasers.

Hemangiomas are small vascular irregularities (bubbles) on the surface of the skin that occur more commonly as we age. They can appear on any part of the body, but are most commonly found on the torso. At Southern Oregon Laser Center, we can safely treat hemangiomas at the roots. Our state-of-the-art lasers safely and effectively close the superficial blood vessels that cause hemangiomas. During treatment, the energy of the laser is absorbed by the hemoglobin in blood, causing the tiny vessels that create the redness to close. Abnormal blood vessels are then absorbed into the body allowing your skin's natural color and tone to show through.

What are Cherry (Strawberry) Hemangiomas?
Cherry (Strawberry) Hemangiomas are small, benign vascular skin lesions that occur more commonly with age.

Causes of Cherry (Strawberry) Hemangiomas
Cherry (Strawberry) Hemangiomas are caused by a localized enlargement of the blood vessels near the surface of the skin. It is not completely known why these vascular abnormalities occur, but their incidence does increase with age. They occur in all races and are equally present in both sexes.
